I was born in Kolkata, India and grew up in India and the UK. By a series of unexpected twists and turns in my life, I ended up in Paris - where I now live, with my family and two black cats!
I spend most of my time in Paris writing stories, often in cafés where I get inspiration watching the passers-by. I write for adults, children, and poetry too - I don't think the format is as important as the content. I think I see myself as a storyteller as much as a writer.

I love to be surrounded by books when I write. It makes me feel part of a long line of storytellers through time. I also drink way too much tea, and if I get stuck for inspiration, I resort to chocolate biscuits or cake! My favourite shop is the local boulangerie, where there are always way too many cakes for my own good....
I'm currently working on a new book, a dark Gothic fantasy set in another part of France, with the same sinister and magical twists of Secrets of the Snakestone.
